Alright, Europhiles. It’s time to be straight: y’all look ridiculous.

In case you haven’t noticed, the world is melting down.

A billionaire-backed Neo-Nazi movement is spreading like a conflagration across the continent you love, the one that is so highly revered among dominant culture as the “center of civilization.”

People died in perilous flash floods in Europe last year, due to climate disruption-induced drought and extreme rain (a deadly combination).

Governments in Europe are barely holding together as they grapple with Russian antagonism and terrorist threats.

Things are not ok, on a global scale.

And some of the writers out here writing with an ostensibly global lens are busy worrying about dining etiquette in France and Americans dressing too “casually” in restaurants?

Can you be serious?

Of all the things that are happening in this world, the gravity of the problems we are facing globally, you’re mad at someone for using the wrong spoon?

You’re mad about a diner — paying their own bill and minding their own business — wearing cargo pants?

How completely shallow and oblivious does one’s life have to be to become “intellectually curious” about fashion choices right now?

Worse are the comments.
